Bukit Panggal Religious School Hosted Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony

Bukit Panggal Religious School yesterday held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for 10 Primary 6 students.
Present as the guest of honour was Imam of Kg Bukit Panggal Mosque, Awang Haji Hasmali bin Awang Haji Talip.
The ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by the guest of honour, followed by the recitation of verses of the Al-Quran by the students participating in the Khatam Al-Quran. There was also a Takhtim recitation by the girls of Class III, IV and V and the ceremony continued with a recitation of Doa Khatam.
The event was enlivened by Dikir Ash Rakal by the boys of Class III, IV and V and continued with the cultural ceremony of pouring scented flowers and presentation of certificates by the guest of honour to the students.
The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for religious primary schools is an annual project organised by the Department of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs since 1985.
It aims to encourage students to recite the Al-Quran in the correct manner and ensure students complete all 30 Juzuks of the Al-Quran prior to completing their primary religious school (Primary 6).
