The Ministry of Development (MoD) held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration last evening at Muhibbah Hall, Old Airport, Berakas.

Present as the guest of honour was the Minister of Development, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah who was accompanied by his spouse.

In his welcoming remarks, Awang Haji Ali Bakar bin Haji Kassim, Acting Surveyor General who is the chairman of the celebration, elaborated on this year's theme 'Keceriaan Berkeluarga Di Aidilfitri'.

"The theme encourages teamwork and closer ties among our colleagues," he said.

This was evident with the 14 beautifully decorated food stalls set up by the departments under the ministry to serve a variety of delicacies, he added.

The stalls competed for the best decorations and were judged by their creativity, food selections as well as the use of recycled materials.

The minister visited each stall and mingled with staff members.

Staff from the various departments also entertained guests with special performances.

About 1,000 attended the celebration which was organised by the Survey Department.
