BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Twenty-three-year-old Dayangku Nur Razanah binti Pengiran Abdul Rahman, one of the recipients of a scholarship courtesy of the Government of the People's Republic of China shared her hopes and ambition with the media.

She said she relishes the opportunity given to her to explore the country and challenge herself to further her education in a foreign language. This experience will also guide her to be more independent, and she hopes her ambition will be realised career-wise.

Dayangku Nur Razanah said she has never been to China, and she will try her best to "maximise the experience" during her five-year stay there.

In her first year, she will be learning the Chinese language, and the next four years will see her do a degree in energy and power at the College of Environmental and Energy Engineering, Beijing University of Technology.

It is a degree she hardly heard of anyone doing, she said, but added that she will try her best to achieve success. The medium of teaching will be in Mandarin, and she hopes she will achieve a higher level of proficiency in the language.
