Bandar Seri Begawan: The AFC U-14 Regional Festival of Football 2016 for the ASEAN zone commenced today at the, Belapan track and field stadium, Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.

The ceremony started with a march pass introducing all 10 participating teams Brunei, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippine, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam and followed by an opening speech by AFC Festival Manager Dr Shamil Kamil Mohamed.

Present at event was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Laila Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awg Halbi Hj Mohd Yusof. The event commenced with the Minister being introduced to participating team officials and players and officiating the opening ceremony.

After the opening ceremony, a game between the host Brunei Darussalam vs Myanmar followed.
