Palembang, Indonesia: Brunei's trio of Wushu exponents, Mohammad Adi Sya'rani bin Roslan, Md Sufi Shayiran bin Roslan and Lee Yingshi, put in respectable performances at the 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang City, Indonesia yesterday.

Mohammad Adi Sya'rani bin Roslan recorded a score of 9.36 in the final of the Chang Quan to earn himself a fourth place finish, just behind Iran (9.61) in third, with Malaysia taking the gold and silver medals by the skin of their teeth.

Md Sufi Shayiran bin Roslan fared no better in the Nan Dao final, scoring 9.24 to finish fifth. Malaysia again took first and second place, followed by Egypt in third.

Lee Yingshi also finished fifth in her Chang Quan final with a score of 9.47. It was no surprise to see Malaysia on top once more, with Iran occupying the remaining podium places.

Mohammad Adi Sya'rani bin Roslan and Md Sufi Shayiran bin Roslan still have a shot at winning a medal, with Men's Nan Gun and Gun Shu finals set to be held today and the Men's Duilian final on October 1.

Taekwondo exponent Nurulain binti Md Ja'afar also still stands a chance at a medal placing as she takes to the floor today in the Women's Kyorugi (below 73kg) event.

Five members of the Brunei contingent, which included Olympian Ak Hafiy Tejuddin bin Pg Rositi and Karate brothers, Muhammad Fida'iy and Mohammad Fadilah bin Sanif, departed Palembang City to return to the sultanate yesterday after failing to impress at the games.
