Bandar Seri Begawan - Frenz Indonesia humbled the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) U-15 side 4-1 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in what was the hosts' first game of the Football Association Malaysia (FAM) Frenz Asean Champions Trophy 2013.
The NFABD U-15 side had only been formed eight days prior to the tournament, and it showed as Frenz Indonesia pegged the home team back, making good use of their wings and forcing NFABD U-15s to get every man behind the ball.
Imanes Novarianto went close with a near-post effort which was saved by the outstretched leg of Muhd Ishyra Asmin bin Mohd Jabidi in the NFABD U-15 goal, before Reva Adi Utama, who had been controlling the run of play in the middle of the park for Indonesia, also had his long range attempt awkwardly saved by Muhd Ishyra Asmin.
Despite dominating proceedings, it was Frenz Indonesia who fell behind after Muhd Syahmi bin Rashid scored the opener for NFABD U-15 in the 26th minute.
Haimie Anak Nyaring picked the ball up on the halfway line, and made his way down the right flank, evading several challenges before hitting a cross into the visitors' penalty box.
Muhammad Dimas Hargiharso appeared to handle the ball as he blocked the incoming cross, but NFABD U-15's protests were shortlived as Muhd Syahmi pounced on the rebound, before shooting on the turn, getting the better of the unsuspecting Achmad Iqbal Bachtiar.
However, no sooner had they gained the lead did NFABD U-15 lose their advantage.
Frenz Indonesia's left-back, Syahviar Amril Jadid, evaded the attentions of the NFABD U-15 defenders, finding space at the by-line before centring for Imanes Novanrianto, whose first-time volley hit the back of the net on the half hour mark.
Ichtio Nimatul Akbar gave the ever enthusiastic Indonesian fans more reason to make a racket after connecting with Dicky Rhomadhona Firmansyah's cross from the right, heading the away team into a deserved lead just three minutes after the restart.
It was all Frenz Indonesia from then on as NFABD U-15s ran out of steam and were left chasing shadows.
Firmansyah thought he had got his name on the score sheet after rounding the keeper and rolling the ball into the net in the 72nd minute, but the linesman flag was raised much to his disbelief.
He did get in on the action six minutes later though after running onto a long cross field ball from Muhammad Dimas Hargiharso, leaving Firmansyah with a simple tap-in past the onrushing Muhd Ishyra Asmin.
An injury time goal from Frenz Indonesia substitute Abdul Ali Nahumaruy left the NFABD U-15s even more red-faced as the visitors stormed to a 4-1 victory.
