I have a constant nagging feeling, a tingling I-desperately-need-to-scratch sensation that those who want the hols extended are worn-out, can't-think-of-any-lessons teachers and kids who just plainly don't want to go to school.

It's a feeling, but that's just me... - analysing

MOE and MOH can't do anything without the support & corporative of the people. There is only a small group of people who really concerned and majority with babies or young children at home.
I don’t understand why all face masks was running out of stock in Brunei but there are not many people who use face mask in public. Where all the masks go to??? or is a trend to fight for face mask nowadays during this time?
I wear face mask to shopping and everyone though I am an alien who infected with swine flu. Is it too much… or we should act like nothing to go around to see whether we are lucky enough for not caughting the deadly flu.
Wake up Brunei people!! It would be useless for the government to put their effort to fight against the H1N1 if nobody willing to work together.

TO all the peole who DISAGREE with the author..
what is meant by the author was sleeping is good to prevent swine flu..
GO READ SOME BIOLOGY BOOK!!
you're just being a typical type of community..

firstly..who caused the swine flu to spread in Brunei? the one who was infected when they are abroad..YOU SHOULD BLAME THEM

secondly..those 'young' people who always complained that they got nothing to do at home thats why they 'jalan2 untuk buang boring'..GUYS,YOU"RE BEING SO SELFISH HERE,WHATS THE POINT YOU GUYS ASKING FOR EXTENSION OF HOLIDAY WHEN YOU SELFISHLY GO OUTSIDE? THATS WHY SWINE FLU IS SPREADING..BECAUSE OF SELFISH 'young' PEOPLE.PEOPLE LIKE YOU MAKING URSELF SUFFER DUDE!!

thirdly..you say that you don't wanna die early..remember that..ALLAH YANG MENETAPKAN BILA KAMU MATI..IM NOT BEING SO ALIM HERE BUT JUST REALISED THAT..

lastly,im sure one of you will be safe as school now check the body temperature before entering the class,if they found out if someone has a temp higher than 38 degree celcius..they will immediately ask them to go home and being quarantined for a week.SO NO WORRIES ABOUT THE SPREADING OF DISEASE..

FROM ALL I CAN SEE..YOU GUYS ARE JUST LIKE ANOTHER TYPICAL PEOPLE,ALWAYS COMPLAIN WITHOUT THINKING.CEMANA NEGARA KAN MAJU NE.AND OUR CCA WAS BEING CLOSED BECAUSE IN ORDER TO COPE WITH THE SYLLABUS AND THAT IS BECAUSE OF YOUR SELFISHNESS..

BREAKING NEWS: DISCOVERED BY LONE RANGER, SLEEP & REST! THE CURE FOR H1N1!

Lone ranger...I don't even know why you decided to submit what you wrote because it's not even relevant to the H1N1 situation & quite frankly, you're just embarrassing yourself. Are you even aware of what you're saying? Don't you realise how ignorant, stupid and pathetic you sound? Well you are ignorant, stupid and pathetic.

And seriously if REST and SLEEP could miraculously help cure H1N1 I think the virus wouldn't be spreading like wild fire as it is right now. It's not a matter of those things you know, but how each and everyone's antibodies function. Kids as young as 4 years old get infected and it's not because of any lack of sleep or rest. And what about the other countries that are affected? Is it because they aren't getting enough sleep and rest as well? That they're too caught up with chatting and whatever? And that 'tidak laku' comment you made. From the looks of it, you're probably the one who is bitter and 'tidak laku' that drove you to post your useless comments.

I applaud You're So Smart's comment to you. You don't really understand the situation. Get your facts straight dude. If you don't have anything useful or worthwhile to say, just shut up next time. - NRH

What's your problem? We so called 'young' people have to be quaratined for 1 week. We watch TV and go online and play games like that. We do that because we don't have anything to do! Can sleeping make you stop getting H1N1? Well NO! So please think of us 'young' people first then write this kind of junk. Thank you. - girl151

Obviously this guy who wrote this rubbish was absolutely pathetic...not to say though but in reality the swine flu have been going biserk around the world no matter where you are, however its better to take an early precaution by taking days off from the school especially the students rather than we losing our precious future assets...myself as a student in Great Britain taken a serious safety measure avoiding unnecessary outing especially in crowded places and dodgy area that might been affected with the virus. Your idea was right but the way you present it was totally bullocks. If i were you, i would rather stay home than touring around all the shops in Brunei.
Please give your suggestion not blame others

Just wondering why is there so much blaming game. Should everyone collaborate with each other to provide good opionion so it can help MOH and MOE in making their decision? You have put them in a difficult situation if to open or close school for another week. Did they listen to you to close the school for another week. Yes. They did. Now there is request for another week. Fair enough. What is the reason then. Swine flu is rising? Yes. I agree. But Exam is coming and life is important as well. How? Close the school is the answer from many. But some want to go to school as well.
Problem
1) Parent bring their children for vacation. Who is responsible?
2) Parent extend their holiday for another week. Who is responsible?
2) Teenager is wondering at the mall. Who is responsible?
3) Not able to study at home? Who is responsible?
I suppose all know the answer.
MOE and MOH is under a lot of pressure as well. Give your great opionion and help them out on what should be done then just open or close. I suppose choosing the best solution out from 350,000 people brain is much better then thinking by themselve. Yes yes, many are children. I know you will say.
My solution might not work but I suppose all of you can suggest
Proposal
1) Since the school is close and teacher is still working there should be a lot of empty class room. Why not open to those who are taking the Government examination. They need to cover their subject on time. Since there are so many empty class room. School can spread them into smaller group. This will allow the teacher to monitor their student easier and not allow the virus to spread so quickly in case there really is H1N1. The pace will be slower because teacher need to go to more class, so the teacher will have to be a bit more hardworking and time should be shorten for teacher to cover the class. I suppose teacher should already know how to manage time. A slow start is always better then staying at home or wondering in the mall. For those who feel unsecure, the school better not make the class compulsory because they can't concentrate as well. So since parent would like school to be close. They should have the responsible to make their children study at home on the subject to be cover and ask question in class when you think is safer to go to school or when the class become compulsory again. Not fair? then give your suggestion.
2) For the student not taking goverment exam. Class should open and should not be compulsory as well. Teacher should give the syallabus for the people who feel unsecure to study at home and teach the student who would like to go to school. I think the group will be small which should be easier to monitor as well. If this ok. Parent should play their role as well for their children to study at home instead of wondering around Children can't say nothing to do as well.
Please take note that parent should still be the one responsible and making sure that their children should not go to school if their children is sick in the morning.

If everyone cooperate, i think there should not be a lot of teenager at the public doing nothing. We must cooperate to fight the swine flu and if we are not, then who else can we blame. - 123

Its a high possibility that the rate of spreading of H1N1 will increase after the school reopens as there are so many students in every school. Even only ONE student in the school is infected, many students in the school will get infected within a week.

Thermometers and masks are provided,

I've read alot of comments on the same issue, that the mask cannot 100% protect a person against H1N1.If it does protect ,when the students are having their break time, when they eat they will of course take off the mask.

The temperature of the students are taken, but a person who has H1N1 virus inside his/her body will only have fever after 4-7days after infected.By the time they found out that the student has H1N1, his/her classmates all have the chances to get the virus too.

It is really dangerous. Since the school reopen date is confirmed, can do nothing about it. Just see how MoH and MoE will handle H1N1.

I'm really scared. - you're
