Singapore: The findings of a Government study on the foreign manpower needs of companies here may be out this week.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Grace Fu, who was speaking at a dialogue with business owners on Friday, said the Government has studied the manpower needs of sectors such as health care and construction and "will be releasing a report soon".

This was confirmed the same day by an official from the National Population and Talent Division, said that the report is likely to be released this week.

Although details are not available, it is believed the study will shed light on the issue of how much foreign labour is required to prevent businesses from falling behind due to the labour crunch, especially in sectors where firms rely heavily on foreign workers.
