Singapore: He was not part of the dispute but ended up being slashed on the head in August last year. Luckily, Mr Moi Hua Meng did not suffer any permanent injury.

On Friday, Lim Yeow Tiam, 54, was jailed for 2 1/2 years for hurting his friend Mr Moi with a knife. A district court heard that at 10pm on Aug 23 last year, Lim called Ms Tan Sor Yong, 44, about removing her refrigerator from his flat. Angry words were exchanged.

Ms Tan was then with Mr Moi and two other friends at a coffee shop in Bedok North Street 3. A little later, Lim's wife, Madam Goh Quee Eng, 54, appeared and an argument broke out between her and Ms Tan.

Ten minutes after Madam Goh left, Lim rushed up and slashed Mr Moi on the head. The others used chairs as shields to keep him at bay and he soon fled.
