Thought of the Day:
"For many of us, there's a gap between the compass and the clock-between what's deeply important to us and the way we spend our time."

Kota Kinabatangan: Police are going all out to trace a suspect believed to have fired nine shots from his homemade shotgun which caused a 48-year-old man to sustain facial injury here early Friday.

The shots penetrated the front mirror of the four-wheel vehicle driven by the victim who was injured in the face.

District Police Chief, DSP Martin Lugu, said investigations are still on-going.

It was understood that the victim was driving to an oil palm estate together with some passengers at about 10am on Friday, but was ambushed by three and four armed men which prompted the victim to reverse the vehicle in an attempt to escape danger.

It was believed that one of the attackers then fired nine shots from his 'Bakakuk' which hit the front side of the vehicle and the victim's face.

The victim continued to reverse the vehicle in their bid to escape before lodging a police report.

He was then rushed to the Kinabatangan Hospital for treatment and later sent to the Sandakan Duchess of Kent Hospital to remove the pellets from his face.

He is reported to be in stable condition after receiving treatment from the hospital the same day.
