Sandakan: Police arrested a 36-year-old who allegedly raped his three-year-old daughter at their house at Mile 12, Jalan Labuk, on Tuesday.

The incident was uncovered by the victim's mother who woke up following a blackout at about 3am.

The suspect fled immediately after the victim complained of pain in her private part, which prompted her mother to lodge a police report.

The unusual relationship between the suspect and the victim was said to have been going on over the last four months.

The victim has been sent to the Duchess of Kent hospital for examination.

District police chief, ACP Rowell Marong confirmed the incident.
