Kota Kinabalu: Public health specialist, Dr Christina Rundi, has been promoted to be State Health Director with effect from Nov 16.
She replaces Datuk Dr Mohd Yusof Ibrahim.
Dr Rundi, who hails from Sandakan, was the State Epidemiologist from 2007 to 2009.
Prior to that, she served as Medical Officer in Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) and Papar District Hospital.
She was also Area Medical Officer of Health for Tawau, Beluran and Keningau.
Her last posting was as Senior Principal Assistant Director in the Vector Sector, Disease Control Division of the Ministry of Health, Putrajaya.
Dr Rundi has a MBBS from the University of Malaya, Masters in Health Service Management, a postgraduate diploma in epidemiology and population health, and Doctor in Public Health (a doctorate equivalent to PhD) from the University of London.
