Sandakan: A total of 4,000 eligible recipients in Sungai Sibuga constituency here received their 1Malaysia People Aid (BR1M) 2.0 of RM500 yesterday during the first phase of the payout.
The cash aid was presented by Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman in a ceremony held at Sri Libaran.
Speaking at the ceremony, Musa expressed his gratitude that the management for the presentation of the BR1M 2.0 has turned out well in this state.
"Unlike the previous BR1M presentation, the BR1M 2.0 has improved a lot especially in managing the presentation the cash aid and the recipients were more patient while they waited for their turn," he said.
Musa hopes the presentation of the BR1M 2.0 which shows the Barisan Nasional's commitment to help the people will ease the burden of the low income earner in this state.
Meanwhile, Musa also presented contributions to more than 500 senior citizens in conjunction with the Chinese New Year 2013 celebration at Sibuga Multipurpose Hall, Mile 8, yesterday.
The celebration was also attended by, Libaran member of parliament, Datuk Juslie Ajirol, Libaran Wanita Umno chief, Datuk Armani Haji Mahiruddin, and President of Sandakan Municipal Council, Datuk Ir. James Wong.
