From the University of Obvious, here's another groundbreaking discovery: it turns out people like sex more than Facebook. If your reaction to that was "duh," you might have forgotten that recent studies and surveys seemed to indicate otherwise, as surprising as that sounds.

As we previously reported, a study by the University of Chicago Booth School of Business found that checking social media websites like Facebook or Twitter is a temptation that's hard to resist, even more than sex.

But a newly released study by the University of Canterbury in New Zealand reveals that making love is the most enjoyable human activity - even more than checking Facebook. "Psychologists have proposed that individuals may seek to increase their well-being through three main behavioral orientations; via pleasure, via engagement, and via meaning," said Carsten Grimm, the lead researcher.

Those are the three categories - pleasure, engagement and meaning - that the researchers used to see what activities brought more happiness, and sex ranked first in all three categories.

Overall it was the top-ranked activity above drinking alcohol and volunteering, while the least desirable activities were recovering from sickness, using Facebook and housework.
