Bandar Seri Begawan, 18th April 2013 - Four experts from the Korean food and beverage industry conducted a day-long workshop for local SMEs and shared useful tips and ideas on how to develop local food products for the international market. The workshop, attended by about 50 local food and drink manufacturers was aimed at giving insights and experiences of the Korean companies which have successfully penetrated the international market. It also covers other topics such as packaging, labelling and contents development in food industry.

Telugu community of Brunei under the auspices of Indian Association of Belait celebrated Telugu New Year Ugadi on 13th April 2013 in Royal Brunei Berkshire hall in Royal Brunei polo club with all its traditional gaiety and enthusiasm.

OGDC- Oil and Gas Discovery Centre organized a 3-day and 2-night Yayasan Camp which started from 12th April to 14th April 2013. It involved 93 students and 6 teachers from Yayasan Sultan Haji HassanalBolkiah School. The participants were from Year 7 to Year 9 students. The objectives of the camp were to generate interest on science, to encourage students to develop problem solving skills and to facilitate and promote teamwork among the campers.

Bandar Seri Begawan, 12 April 2013 - The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) yesterday organised a Workshop on the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) which provided participants with an introduction and overview of the PCT System for worldwide filing of patent applications. The Workshop was conducted as a follow-up to the Introductory PCT Seminar that was held on 18 July 2012 and attracted the participation of approximately 25 participants from local law firms, SMEs, business incubatees, inventors, researchers and Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs).
