Good news, for movie fans in Miri, Sarawak - Golden Screen Cinemas will open this Thursday (7 February) at the 4th floor, Bintang Megamall Shopping Centre. This 8 screen cinema will be the first GSC cinema in Sarawak, under the GSC Lite branding. With a seating capacity of 1,014 seats, GSC Bintang Megamall, Miri will be fully equipped with digital projectors to cater to digital 2D and 3D movies.
In conjunction with the launch of the multiplex, GSC Bintang Megamall will be offering free movie screenings to the public on February 6, 2013.
The movies for the free screenings are "Wreck It Ralph" animation in Digital 3D, "Skyfall", "Sinister", "Cold War" (Chinese) and "Nethan En Ponsatham" (Tamil).
Details of the free screening show times are attached and also available in GSC website (www.gsc.com.my), GSC mobile portal (www.gscmobile.com.my) or GSC Facebook (www.facebook.com/GSCinemas).
To obtain the free tickets, movie fans can log onto GSC website at www.gsc.com.my or GSC Facebook at www.facebook.com/GSCinemas to print out the free screening coupons or present the original GSC cinema listings in the local newspapers. Each coupon or cut-out is valid for two (2) tickets on a first-come, first-served basis (while tickets last). In addition, you can also cut out the free screening coupons in GSC Bintang Megamall cinema opening flyers, which will be available at Bintang Megamall information counter located on the Ground Floor.
Each coupon is entitled for two (2) tickets and each person is entitled to a maximum of two (2) coupons per day. The public can redeem the tickets after 10am on February 6. However, the coupons can only be redeemed for movie screenings on the same day of the redemption date. No advance redemption will be entertained.
Besides the free screenings, the public can enjoy fun activities like Movie Character appearances, 3D puzzle game and the ever popular Xbox G.I. Joe game during the opening weekend (February 9 and 10). So don't miss out on the opportunity for a fun-filled weekend.
In addition, GSC will be giving away an exclusive ‘Oz the Great and Powerful' multi-purpose pouch with every purchase of a large GSC Caramel Combo 3 from Feb 7 onwards, while stocks last.

Alternately, patrons can choose to print their own tickets - GSC SelfPrint with 2D barcode to be validated at 23 cinemas (inclusive of Gold Class and GSC Maxx). GSC launched a mobile application - GSC Mobile App (iPhone) in May 2011 and for Android devices in November 2011, which enables movie-goers to purchase via m2u mobile, PayPal account or RHB Now (Android only) on their smartphones and scan the 2D barcode via the phone at cinema checkpoints.
