HRH Prince ‘Abdul Malik on INS Sudarshini, Muara Port, Brunei Darussalam

HRH Prince ‘Abdul Malik today consented to grace the INS Sudarshini which reached Muara Port, Brunei on 21 NCmdr-Shyam-Sundar-presenting-a-token-of-appreciation-for-the-Royal-visitovember 2012. On arrival at the quay side, Prince Malik was received by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, His Excellency Mr. LAlduhthlana Ralte, High

Commissioner of India, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd Hanifah SMB ndc, MA, psc (j), pwo. He was then received onboard INS Sudarshini by the Commanding Officer of the ship, Commander N. Shyam Sundar and his crew.

Signing-the-plagueThe Commander briefed His Royal Highness on the ship and the present purpose of the trip, which was to commemorate the 20 years of ASEAN - India Dialogue partnership and 10 years of ASEAN - India Summit. The trip will last 127 days and visit 9 countries. The purpose is to highlight the centuries old traditional linkages within the ASEAN region and India. During the visits to the countries, besides organising business and cultural events, the ship will take on trainee cadets of the countries it visits so that they can train alongside their Indian counterparts.

Briefing-at-WardroomHRH Prince Malik was introduced to the two Brunei navy cadets joining the sail up to Cebu by the Navy Commander.
Prince Malik expressed his admiration for the captain and crew of the ship on their tough journey and his belief that the expedition will achieve its goal of bringing India closer to Brunei and the ASEAN.

Commander Shyam Sundar presented a book on India to HRH as a token of appreciation for his visit and the Prince consented to sign a plague in commemoration of his visit which will be permanently hung in the Wardroom of the Commanding Officer.
