Brunei-made Finance Package Software Enters The Korean Market

As a result of the business matching initiated by Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and the Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry (AiTi) of Brunei Darussalam, MARS Enterprise, an iCentre incubatee and a local software developer focused on providing Enterprise Solutions has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a Korean company, Innovation Management & Technology Ltd (IMTL) in Seoul. The MOU aims to market MARS Standard Finance Package in Korea to over 3,000 member companies of Business Federations of Korea. To kick-start the export of the said software, Ms Cleo Garcia, General Manager of MARS Enterprise together with Mr Foo Gwen Tong, Director of BMARS Sdn Bhd are scheduled to visit Seoul, Korea from 21-25 January 2013.

MARS Finance System has a unique feature of multi-dimensional chart of account allowing any start-up company, small and medium enterprise to grow using the same system all along with options of upgrade, update, or plug-in of additional modules, whichever is suitable for their business needs. Business owners, management and operations team will now have the visibility of their business performance and operations at the tip of their fingers. The proposed solution runs on either full web-based or hybrid platform. Hybrid is a combination of web and window solutions.

As mobile technology is growing very popular among software developers, MARS solutions are also offered to be accessible via android and IOS. Modules available for distribution are Human Resource and Payroll System, Inventory System, Finance System, Fixed Asset, Remittance System, Brulink e-customs declaration system and many more. Among the clients of MARS include but not limited to Brunei Investment Agency, Telekom Brunei Berhad, Low San Hardware, Jerudong Park Medical Centre, Jerudong Park Country Club, Radisson Hotel, Standard Insurance, Setia Motors, Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies, Archipelago Development Corporation, BT Forwarding, Tri-star Shipping, Darul Trustee and Remittance, Duners Construction, and others.

With the visit to Korea, MARS envisions to expand their business within East Asia and Oceania covering Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hongkong as well as ASEAN countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Mars Enterprise currently employs 7 staff, including 6 locals. 4 of them are full-time programmers. The company has achieved several milestones where they have won awards in APICTA 2008 in Jakarta for their Finance Package Solution and APICTA 2009 in Melbourne for their Brulink e-Customs Declaration System. Apart from receiving awards, Mars Enterprise has also received funding from AITI for their project.
