3-Day Fire Marshall Course Concluded At Fire & Rescue Department

empireA total of 22 mixed group of staff from The Empire Hotel and Country Club and Brunei Hotel participated in the 3-day Fire Marshall course, which was held at the Fire and Rescue Department Headquarter in Berakas, last week on 28th to 30th January 2013. The 3-Day course was led by Puan Rozita Binti Mohd Khamis, Public Relations Officer.

The highlight of the course was on importance of fire safety and emergency procedure, with an objective to educate participants on the common fire hazards and preventions at work. Apart from that, certified participants will help in delivering this message and knowledge to their colleague to implement at work.

On hand to present the certificates was the commanding officer of Operation "F Haji Janaidi Bin Haji Gunong, who also presented the prizes to the best male Hisyamuddin Bin Kula from The Empire Hotel & Country Club, Santoso Bin Sumarno from Brunei Hotel and best female Josephine Yapp from The Empire Hotel & Country Club.

"Having adequately trained staff to take on the role and responsible of the Fire Marshal in an emergency situation is very important. We are pleased to see that we have been receiving positive participation from the public and we would like to congratulate each and every one who had successfully participated in this course"

Meanwhile Hj Dahlan bin Hj Sudin, Fire Chief from The Empire Hotel & Country Club said that the course was useful for everyone to understand on identifying command fire hazards and prevention, and to enable participants to learn the correct manner in handling emergency situations. It also aims to the enlighten participants on the duties responsibilities of a fire Marshal and to demonstrate the correct methods of using portable fire extinguishers and the fire marshal course served to better equip the hotel staff in case an emergency.
