Kuala Lumpur: The prime suspect in bank clerk Rozana Mohd Yushak's gruesome murder was nabbed in Pantai Dalam here on Thursday.

The unemployed suspect, in his early 20s, was detained at his house about 8.30pm by a team from the Gombak police headquarters.

A police source said the suspect, believed to be Rozana's boyfriend, had been on the wanted list since the Dec 21 incident, which saw the 35-year-old woman stabbed 20 times at her rented shophouse in Taman Puncak Desa in Kepong, Selangor.

"The suspect had just returned to his house before the team moved in and arrested him.

"We also found the murder weapon -- a knife -- which the suspect dumped not far from the scene. He showed police the location after the arrest."

The suspect has been remanded for seven days starting yesterday.

On the day of the murder, Rozana was seen calling for help from a window and was later found dead about 1.30am.

Bernama reported that apart from the boyfriend, police have detained two others.

Police detained the others in two raids conducted in Pantai Dalam and Datuk Keramat, and seized a laptop that had belonged to Rozana.
