Keningau: Two retail shop workers were caught stealing from their employer when their act was captured on CCTV.

The pair of 24-year-olds were seen stealing six packets of milk powder and 48 packets of instant coffee amounting to RM562.20 last Friday.

Keningau district police chief, Deputy Suprintenden Robert Solisip @ David said that the police received a report from one of the workers of the same shop at 2.30pm.

According to him, another shopkeeper had ordered two boxes of mineral water from the shop. The duo used that opportunity to place their ill-gotten goods into the boxes meant for the mineral water.

They covered the boxes and placed them outside the shop. They were planning to sell off the stolen goods at a cheaper price.

However, their act was caught on camera and another staff manning the CCTV saw it all taking place. He then lodged the police report.
