Sandakan: The folks of Kampung Bambangan in Batu Sapi constituency want the local authorities to pay more attention to its dilapidated public structures.
They said a boardwalk and bridge which is an important link for those going out to sea to fish are in poor shape.
"The shed has collapsed and it is high time, the facilities are repaired," said Batu Sapi Umno Youth committee member Shamsuddin Chinu.
He said fishermen of the village depended on the facility to load and unload their catch.
Shamsuddin said that the residents are strong supporters of Barisan Nasional and they should not be sidelined.
"The authorities must address any problems face by the people, who depend much on the government for various assistances," he said.
Shamsuddin who is also former Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) chairman said the shortcomings were brought to the attention of the authorities six months ago.
"The villagers are still waiting for the help they need," he added.
He said the folks in the village have been patient enough to wait for help to come and the patience is wearing off as some have begun complaining about their grouses to other villagers.
