Top Keglers For Megastrike Classic

Bandar Seri Begawan - Members of the public are welcome to witness the inaugural MegaStrike Invitational Classic Tournament 2012 at MegaStrike Bowl whereby top bowlers from around this region will compete for two days starting Dec 1 held in-conjunction with their 1st anniversary celebration.

A total of 43 overseas bowlers (Indonesia and Malaysia) and 45 more local players have confirmed their participation in the tournament.

Ryan Lalisang ranked 10th in the Men's Asian Bowling Tour and Putty Armein ranked 11th in the Women's Asian Bowling Tour will spearhead Indonesia's challenge against bowlers from neighbouring states of Malaysia.

Sarawak will be sending their Sukan Malaysia youth bowlers, Jonathan Ding Sagan, Muhd Syafiq and his sister Syazwani Sajeli, Nerosha Keligit, Jakelyn Ng and Jocelyna Jonathan whilst Sabah will send their perfect gamer, Thomas Tan Chien Nan and child prodigy Issac Russell Paul to join the fray for the total prize money of more than $14,000.

Meanwhile, among the Brunei top bowlers are from the Sultanate's national bowling team, Mohd Syawal, Pg Rudy and Pg Ishamuddin together with participation from the Megastrike Youth Bowlers and the local bowling congress.

At a press conference yesterday Hjh Sharifah Rozlina, Administration Manager for Megastrike Bowl said: The inaugural MegaStrike Classic is organised as a means to say thank you to the enthusiastic response and support by our customers and most importantly to bring in international competition and exposure to our local bowlers."

According to Hjh Sharifah, this would be the first time such bowling tournament with participation from high ranking bowlers has been held in Brunei. Among other objective of the tournament is to promote the sport of tenpin bowling as well as camaraderie and sportsmanship amongst fellow bowlers in the region.

The tournament is expected to commence on Saturday morning (Dec 1) at 8am, for the first block of eight games while on Sunday (Dec 2) at the same time for the second block of eight games.
