Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei DPMM FC will be playing for pride in the third and fourth place playoff in Indonesia after Aceh FC triumphed 3-2 at the Harapan Bangsa Stadium in the semi-finals of the Aceh Governor Cup.

Mandi Senegal gave the home side the lead in the 23rd minute, but Brunei DPMM FC equalised just13 minutes later when an Aceh FC defender handled the ball inside the box.

Team Manager, Ali Hj Momin, felt that the handball had been deliberate and thus the defender should have received his marching orders, but regardless of that dispute, Shahrazen Said converted the penalty coolly to draw his side on level terms.

Defri Rizky's 78th minute strike was a sucker punch for Brunei DPMM FC, before Ismed Sofyan landed the killer blow in the 90th minute, with Shahrazen Said netting a consolation goal, in injury time.

In the second semi-final, Semen Padang FC beat Selangor FA 3-1 to ensure an all-Indonesian final. It was Edward Junior Wilson who once more did the damage, bagging a quick-fire first half brace to lead the goal scoring charts with six goals.

Despite Afiq Azmi pulling one back for the Malaysians with 60 minutes still to play there would be no last-gasp equaliser, as Muhammad Rizal ended the contest with his second half goal.

Last night's results mean Brunei DPMM FC will take on Selangor FA in the third and fourth place play-off on December 22. Kick-off is at 5pm local time.

Meanwhile, Semen Padang FC, who have looked in formidable form since the start of the tournament, will be playing for bragging rights when they lock horns with Aceh FC in the Final, which is set to be played four hours later.
