Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Darussalam Athletic Association will be organising the 2nd Brunei Darussalam Open Track and Field Championship from Nov 30 to Dec 2 at the Belapan and Field Complex.
The competition is divided into two categories namely open men and women (born before 1996) and Under-17 boys and girls.
For the open men and women categories, the events to be contested include 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 4x100m and 4x400m, high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus and javelin. Additional events for the open men category are 10,000m and 3,000m steeplechase as well as hammer throw.
For the boys and girls under-17 categories, the events competed are 100m, 200m, 400m , 800m, 1,500m, 4x100m, 4x400m, high jump, long jump, pole vault, shot put and javelin.
Athletes are allowed to compete in three individual events excluding relays. There is no limit for the participation of team events. A $3 entrance fee is levied for per athlete for all the open categories.
The championship is open to citizens and permanent residents of Brunei Darussalam and foreign nationals who are working, studying or residing in Brunei Darussalam.
All entries must be submitted before Nov 23 and entry forms can be obtained from the National Sport Association office at the Concourse of Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium and Sultan Bolkiah Vocational School, Seria as well as Aquatic Centre of the Youth and Sports branch in Tutong.
