Bandar Seri Begawan - Indonesia will have a chance to avenge their Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy (HBT) final loss at the hands of the Young Wasps when they arrive in the sultanate on Tuesday (Sept 25) ahead of their highly anticipated friendly match with the Brunei Darussalam national team on Wednesday (Sept 26) night at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
The announcement was made yesterday at the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) House in Berakas during a press conference which was chaired by NFABD Assistant General Secretary, Hj Mohd Taha Hj Mohd Tahir and also attended by Mohd Noor Hj Abdullah, the NFABD General-Secretary and Hj Hamidon Hj Mohd lain, the NFABD Referees Committee Deputy Chairman.
Tickets for the match will be priced at $5 for normal seats and $8 for grandstand seats, and will be on sale at the Mumong Sports Complex in Kuala Belait, the Tutong Sports Complex, the Temburong Sports Complex in Batu Apoi, the NFABD House and the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium during office hours.
Safety will be a priority during the match, with spectators advised that items such as cans, bottles, banners, flags, poles, umbrellas, fireworks, air horns, whistles, drums and musical instruments are prohibited from being brought into the stadium.
Brunei's new look squad sees the addition of the 11 Brunei DPMM FC players, whilst majority of the HBT team has been retained, with a total of 29 players making up the provisional Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup team.
There are no surprise inclusions for the Garuda as captain Elie Aiboy and vice-captain Wahyu Wijiastanto make the trip, but Indonesia will be missing top scorer Bambang Pamungkas, rising star Andik Vermanshah and winger Yosua Pahabol for Wednesday night's game:
The Tebuan Muda have already made substantial progress in their preparations for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup qualifiers after recently returning from a fortnight long tour in Malaysia, during which they had friendly matches against six local teams.
Wednesday's friendly will be the team's final dress rehearsal before their AFF Suzuki Cup qualifying campaign kicks off on Friday (Oct 5) against Myanmar at the Youth Training Centre, Yangon.
