Bandar Seri Begawan - In an effort to make students understand the way of life for the people of Kampong Ayer, Yayasan SHHB Secondary School organised an educational visit on Saturday to the area as part of their local experience in the country.
Thirty eight students and nine teachers began their trip by bus followed by a Brunei River cruise provided by the Ministry of Education.
The students were exposed to the culture and inheritance of the long serving "Venice of the East". The objective was to educate the students of the country's national heritage.
They stopped at 'Galeri Kebudayaan dan Pelancongan Kampong Ayer'.
During the visit, the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources officers gave a briefing of the gallery and the history of Kampong Ayer as well as conducting some quizzes for the students to answer.
They also went to visit the Yayasan Complex as well as the Royal Regalia Building in the capital.
On Monday, the students continued their visit to one of the leading pizza brands in Brunei, Tasconi's Pizza (Berakas Branch).
The visit was conducted by the Business, Art and Technology Department and Strategies.
According to the principal of SMYSHHB, Hjh Mariam bind. Hj Ladi, the trip to Kampong Ayer was a reward for the hard work that the students showed in their studies.
The visit to Tasconi's was another educational trip as their end-of-year programme before the school holidays. Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School expressed their gratitude to the management of Tasconi's Pizza Brunei (Berakas Branch) for their effort and excellent service in handling the visit and catering to the students' educational needs.
