Bandar Seri Begawan - The 'first Bukit Tempayan Pisang Challenge Run, which coincided with the launching ceremony of Bukit Tempayan Pisang Recreational Park over the weekend, received an encouraging response from the public, especially among residents of Kg Kapok.
The chief guest at the event, who presented prizes to the winners, was the Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.
The challenge was open to residents in Kg Kapok, Mukim Serasa and organised by the Kg Kapok Village. Consultative Council (MPK) to mark the launching of the recreational park.
Seven categories were contested in the run, which covered a distance of three kilometres for all categories.
In Category A, first place went to Md Wardi Safwan bin Hj Abdullah, who clocked a time of 18:23 sec. Second place went to Md Amirul Hazmi bin Md Saijuddin. Third place went to Muhd Rizwan bin A Rahman.
The winner in Category B, Md Norilham Hj Hamidon, clocked a time of 15:30 sec. Second went to Afifi bin Anuar. In third place was Md Firdaus Ramadhan Abdullah Maripa.
Category C first place winner was Hamdani Hj Zaini, who clocked a time of 18.49sec. In second place was Azman bin Lamat. In third place was Zulmasam bin Ladis.
In Category D, the first place went to Harun bin Hj Budin. In second place was Rosli Hj Abd Rahman. In third place was Hassan Hj Budin.
In category E, the winner was Hj Wahab (15:30sec). In second place was Hj Lakim.
In category F, the first place went to Annuar Qattwa Natasha clocking a time of 24:55 sec. Second place went to Hjh. Sit Norimah.
In category G, first place went to Malasari bte Hj Ibrahim (28:24 sec). Second place went to Rokiah bte Sukirman. In third place was Norhayati bte Abd Latif.
In category H, first place went to Hjh Sid Shariphina bte Abdullah clocking a time of 39:04 sec. Second place went to Hjh Halimah bte Hj Mina. Third place went to Hjh Norsiah bte Hj Mina.
Each winner in the respective categories received electrical goods presented by Minister of Home Affairs.
The Kampong Kapok Village Consultative Council is planning to organise more activities in the near future, to be participated not only by residents of Kg Kapok, but also from all communities in the country.
