Bandar Seri Begawan - Six months ago, Muhammad Shavez Cheema, a Universiti Brunei Darussalam student, who could not sleep at 3am, an idea popped up in his mind to create a website just like Wikipedia to provide in-depth information about the Sultanate.
After months of hard work and dedication, Muhammad Shavez Cheema, a former student from Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah with Ak Muhd Fadhil, helped by Danial Azizan and Jenson Wong, completed a new website named 1s topbrunei.com. The new website was launched yesterday at Maktab Duli in the presence of the Principal Cikgu Marina Chek binti Bujang.
According to Muhammad Shavez, "it's a Wikepedia of Brunei. The website includes the segment of fun Brunei whereby people can upload pictures, videos, arts, handicrafts and music to encourage public to showcase their talents and knowledge. However the uploaded materials will be screened to avoid any sensitive issues being published."
"The website is the first of its kind that provides a platform for artists to sell their artworks. Local artists can put up their work of art in the Buy and Sell segment of the website. It is aim to promote the local creative industry."
The co-founder of lstopbrunei.com said, "Local artists also can promote their songs and albums in the website. There are features on local music artistes like Hill Zaini, Eda Brig and Fakrul Razi."
To provide updated information on Brunei, he said "members Of the public can click to the E-Directory for in-depth information about the country.
