Thought of the Day:
"For many of us, there's a gap between the compass and the clock-between what's deeply important to us and the way we spend our time."

Bandar Seri Begawan - The night performance from the Brunei Shell Joint Venture (BSJV) companies and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) turned out to be the most colourful affair in enlivening the royal wedding celebrations of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah and YAM Pengiran Anak Haji Muhammad Ruzaini bin Pengiran Dr Hj Mohd Yakub.

Saturday night's performance saw the Waterfront in the capital crowded with excited and well-entertained members of the public from all walks of life to witness a fusion of local and international performances.

One of the night's attractions was the involvement of expatriates of BSJV who were no less excited to perform and showcase their respective nation's cultures comprising Nigerian, Dutch and Indonesian members of BSJV.

A brief interview with one of the Nigerian performers, Zatu, who is attached to Brunei Shell Petroleum, expressed her excitement and that of her fellow colleagues in performing for the royal wedding celebrations.

Zatu also added that it was a first time experience for her to witness a Malay wedding, more so a royal wedding and she said it was really nice to be both watching and performing.

The Nigerian group staged a traditional dance from their homeland as well as singing and dancing to the beat of an English number while fellow Dutch and Indonesian expatriates performed their respective dance cultures.

MCYS dancers were also no less entertaining with their show of the rich culture of traditional dance as well as a beautiful sketch of the traditional wedding.

Many at the show said the night's performance had been the most entertaining with local talents comprising 'girl power' singers Pei Pei and Fairuzneezan belting out hits with their strong vocals, particularly Pei Pei with her versatility with the addition of a Hindi song.

Also involved in the performance of the magnificent night were local artistes Faiz, Fakhrul Razi and the local comedian popularly known as "Si Beracun".
