Bandar Seri Begawan - The Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Rural Development of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mrs Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu paid a courtesy call on Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar, Brunei's Minister of Industry and Primary Resources at the MIPR building yesterday.

During the courtesy call, various areas of collaboration were discussed such as cooperation in the fields of agriculture and fisheries through programmes in capacity building, technical assistance and consultancy, as well as investment opportunities.

Mrs Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu is currently in Brunei Darussalam for an official three-day working visit from December 19 to 21.

The visit also serves as a follow-up to the recent state visit by President Truong Tan Sang of the. Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam, during which he indicated the possibilities of cooperation and collaboration between the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, Brunei and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam.

Mrs Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu is also scheduled to make a visit to the Wasan Paddy Field and Semaun Holdings Sdn Bhd in the Tutong District today.
