Bandar Seri Begawan - The Faculty of Science at the University of Strathclyde is pleased to announce the introduction of their Times Higher Education UK University of the Year International Scholarships. The scholarships are open to new international students for both undergraduate and postgraduate Masters courses at the Faculty of Science, a press release stated.
Strathclyde was named UK University of the Year in by the Times Higher Education Awards 2012. Judges described the university as a "bold, imaginative and innovative institution" and praised Strathclyde for its close links with business and industry and its commitment to making an impact on the global economy.
The prestigious title reflects Strathclyde's status as a leading international technological university and its founding mission to be a "place of useful learning".
Each scholarship has a value of up to £3000 towards the cost of tuition fees. Successful undergraduate students will receive this for each year of their degree, subject to satisfactory progress. Only self-funded students are eligible for consideration; government sponsored students cannot be considered.
The scholarship is based on academic excellence and the student needs to provide evidence of a desire to study at the University of Strathclyde.
The application deadline is May 31, 2013 and the student should have accepted an offer from Strathclyde by this date.
The scholarships are offered in the areas of Chemistry Physics, Mathematics and Statistics, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science and Pharmacy for full time undergraduate and postgraduate studies (except MSc Clinical Pharmacy).
The scholarship, combined with an attractive exchange rate, relatively low cost of living in Glasgow and a degree from a highly reputable university, makes studying at Strathclyde a viable study option.
