Bandar Seri Begawan - Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif All (UNISSA) yesterday hosted a visit from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Malaysia, led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Student Affairs and Alumni, Haji Mohamed Noor Rosli bin Baharum.
The six-member delegation also comprised Dawi Cahyono bin Nurdin, Head of An-Nur Islamic Centre, and Ustazah Mashitabinti Sabdin from the Department of Humanitarian and Management as well as several officers and staff from the UTP Islamic Centre.
The delegation was greeted by Haji Tarip bin Mat Yassin, UNISSA Registrar, upon their. arrival at the university. Also present were the Dean of Students, Deputy Dean of Students as well as officers and staff from the UNISSA Students Affairs Section.
Haji Tarip, in his welcoming address expressed hope that the visit will provide benefits between both institutions and that the relations will be further strengthened.
Haji Mohammed Noor Rosli, in response, said that the visit had been long planned and the visit to UNISSA yesterday marked the start in both efforts to strengthen cooperation for the future. The deputy vice chancellor also informed that UTP had chosen UNISSA as their destination based on the appropriateness and the commonness between both institutions.
There was also a corporate video presentation between both institutions and further continued with a two-way discussion as well as the exchanging of information between the two universities.
Before concluding the visit, the Malaysian delegation was hosted to a lunch banquet, which also saw the attendance of Dr Haji Serbini bin Haji Matahir, Rector of UNISSA.
Meanwhile, UNISSA also received a visit from Majlis Ulama Indonesia (MUI), West Sumatra, in the afternoon. The 22-member delegation was led by Yang Berbahagia Professor Dr Haji Abdullah Syah bin Muhammad, Head Chief of MUI.
The delegation from Indonesia was greeted by Pengiran Anak Dr Haji Amiruddin Alam Shah bin Pengiran Anak Haji Ismail, Deputy Rector of UNISSA. The event began with the reading of the Surah Al-Fatihah and doa led by Dr Arman bin Haji Asmad, Deputy Dean of Studies, UNISSA.
Both universities also discussed matters and issues of relevance as well as the viewing of a corporate video presentation prior to the delegation's departure to the Brunei International Airport.
