Bandar Seri Begawan - A fifteen-member delegation from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) recently left for Turkey as part of a series of scientific visits to Istanbul and Bursa.

Over the course of their week-long stay, the delegation will follow an itinerary that includes visits to Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque and St Sophia Museum, as well as navigating and cruising along the Bosphorus Strait.

According to a UNISSA press release, the tour is focussed on "Turkey's rich Islamic historical heritage with regards to ancient civilisations, including the remains of the ideal Islamic manuscripts as a natural treasure that is priceless".

UNISSA said that the visit is thus intended to provide real experience in gaining knowledge, as well as upgrade what their students currently possess.

In addition, the visit is also aimed at giving the students a chance to learn about Turkey's culture and strengthening relations between UNISSA members.

Participating in the trip, which was organised by the Student Affairs Section of the university, are the UNISSA Registrar along with its Dean of Students, four undergraduate students and two postgraduate students, as well as their family members.
