Bandar Seri Begawan - Tungku Primary School Cub Scout and Brunei Chess Federation held the first ever interschool chess competition for its students held at the Brunei Chess Federation headquarters on March 1. Thirty students ranging from Year Three to Year Six participated in the competition.
The guest of honour during the event was the national chess coach, Mr Vakhidov Tahir who presented the prizes to the winners. Md Amirul Adam from Year Six became the overall champion in the competition. The prizes were contributied by the leader of Tungku Primary School Cub Scout, Cikgu Haji Awg Mohd Khairul Anuar bin Allahyarham Pehin Penyurat Haji Awg Mohd Salleh.
The top six players will represent the school at the upcoming District Level Chess competition organised by the Co-Curriculum Department of the Ministry of Education.
