Bandar Seri Begawan - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and in this case, it is in your iPhone.
TonyMoly one of Korean's most popular beauty brands, has joined the recently-launched SME app developed by Infindo Technology, becoming the first cosmetic shop in Brunei to do so.
Thanks to the TonyMoly app, the Korean cosmetics brand is able to penetrate markets throughout the whole of Borneo, including key cities in Miri and Kota Kinabalu, said Kelly Bong, owner of TonyMoly Brunei.
"Our customers can get the latest information about TonyMoly products and promotions, as well as schedule appointments for skincare services and courses at the shop, all through the iPhone app," she noted.
Since the local app was launched less than a month ago, feedback from TonyMoly customers has been very positive with more than 500 downloads, proving the effectiveness of the app.
"These days, we want everything on the go and in an instant. We need to keep up with the technology trends or we will fall behind. The SME app is a combination of both business and technology - which results in increased profitability and helps build our brand name," added the owner.
One of the key features of the app is arranging appointments with TonyMoly beauticians directly, whether for a make-up, nail service or skin care course.
"Once a customer fills up the required details in the selected fields, it will automatically send a notification to our e-mail account. It's that simple!" she said.
TonyMoly is one of 10 companies under Infindo Technology's mobile app pilot project, designed as part of the mobile application developer's commitment to helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Brunei benefit from mobile commerce.
Since its inception in the 19th Century, TonyMoly has maintained its black, white and grey colours and its chic font in order to attract stylish customers. Like all Korean beauty brands, TonyMoly's aims to provide customers with a unique skincare and makeup line at a very fair and affordable price.
"Our target group of customers is mostly teenagers and most of them are constantly on their smartphone, logging in to social media sites. We want to grab this opportunity to use this new tool for the convenience of our customers," she explained.
The Android version of this app will be released soon, which she hopes would further increase the user base. In the future, more attachments and features will be included in the app to make it more user-friendly. To encourage customers to download the app, the shop offers discounts to those who have a TonyMoly app installed on their smartphones.
