Bandar Seri Begawan - The 'Tilawah Al-Quran Competition for Brunei-Muara District (Zone 1) was held yesterday at the religious hall of Kampong Bebuloh.

Emerging as champion was Awg Ramie bin Hj Ladis with a total score of 75.2 per cent. On hand to present the prizes was the guest of honour, YB Hj Jumat bin Akim, Legislative Council member and village head for Kampong Putat. A total of nine participants were in the competition.
