Bandar Seri Begawan - Three foreigners were sentenced accordingly after they pleaded guilty to committing offences under the Immigration Act before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court yesterday.

All of them are Indonesian nationals. Irvan Insani, aged 30, Sugiyanto, 22, and Agus Supriyanto, 22, tried to flee the country by hiding in a vehicle driven by a Malaysian man but were caught.A probe revealed that Irvan had overstayed after the expiry of his employment pass, Sugiyanto held an expired entry pass, while Agus was not in possession of a passport. Agus was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with three strokes of the cane, while Sugiyanto and Irvan each received 10 days' imprisonment sentence.
