Kuala Belait - A total of 39 graduates from Sultan Bolkiah Vocational School (SVSB) have completed their one-year Pre-National Diploma (PND) and were celebrated in a convocation ceremony recently held at the Reviera Hotel Restaurant in the Belait District.
Present as the guest of honour to hand over certificates to the graduates was Akandi bin Hj Abdul Razak, the Principal of SVSB.
In his welcoming speech, the principal stated that the rate of passes for the intake is 98 per cent, where out of 40 students registered in the courses, 39 of them have passed and it is a significant gift to all teaching staff from the graduates.
"However the mission of students should not end here, it should be continued to a higher level. In this challenging era, knowledge and competence play an important role in meeting the demands of ever- developing and dynamic human resource," added Principal Akandi.
Principal Akandi also mentioned that with the implementation of SPN21 at technical and vocational institutions last July, students should take into consideration the new programmes and curriculum that are relevant and suitable with the demands of the public and private sectors to fill in their human resources needs.
The ceremony was initiated with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah read by Ustaz Mohd Hirmi bin Awg Tahir, followed by the handing of certificates to 19 graduates from Computer Studies department as well as to 20 Business and Finance Department graduates.
Also present were heads of department and their deputies, as well as heads of division and committee members of the convocation ceremony.
