Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 70 pre-schoolers from Sunshine School's KG3 classes, accompanied by five teachers, made an educational field trip to the Royal Regalia Building and the Language and Literature Bureau in the capital recently.

According to teacher, the objectives of the tour were to inculcate in the minds of the pupils the love for one's culture and heritage, while at the same time exposing the children to an array of books and other educational materials.

At the Royal Regalia Building, the KG3 pupils were able to see the various regalia of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei during His Majesty's Coronation as the 29th Sultan of Brunei and some memorabilia during His Majesty's childhood until he became a great monarch. The pupils also had a close look at the several souvenirs that His Majesty received from different countries all over the world and from His Majesty's subjects in all four districts.

Meanwhile, at the Language and Literature Bureau, the pupils were exposed to the many types of books on the open shelves. There was also a colouring competition in which the children participated. Winners in the contest were given books.

The Language and Literature Bureau staff also invited the pupils to become members so they can enjoy the many benefits of borrowing library books and join the various activities that the Language and Literature Bureau offers.
