Bandar Seri Begawan - The Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Arabic Girls Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD) welcomed a total of 233 students for Year 7 and also eight students for Year 9 from Temburong for the new school term yesterday. The start of the Ta'aruf orientation week took place at the school hall in the capital.

More than 200 parents were present to show their support towards their children's first school term.

The start of the orientation week began with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah prior to several important briefings by the teachers in relation to a number of related school issues such as administration, academics and the hostel's rules and regulations, just to name a few.

The Ta'aruf orientation week will continue to run until January 12.

Some of the activities organised for the orientation week include school tours, introduction to the school's song, motivational talks, briefings on counselling and many others.

There will also be orientation activities for those who are staying at the hostel offered by the school, such as sports activities, mass daily prayers, religious performances as well as an in-house Al-Quran memorisation competition for the students.

Among the objectives of the orientation is to let the students familiarise themselves with the school system, to enhance relationships with their new friends, as well as to adapt themselves with the dormitory environment.
