Bandar Seri Begawan - Students of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD) were urged to treasure, preserve and build on a legacy of excellence and not be complacent in carrying out their duties.
The encouragement came from Principal Ustazah Hjh Haryati Hj Ahmad, who delivered opening remarks during the appointment of the school's 2013 Prefectorial Board and Student Representative Council on Saturday.
The speech was followed by the presentation of letters of appointments to the newly elected students and certificates of appreciation to the outgoing students.
The highlight of the event was the swearing-in of the new office bearers led by its president, Siti Najiyah bind Hj Adanan. The Year Ten student said she hoped that the new line-up would be able to bring the school to greater heights through various activities undertaken by the student council.
Held at the school's assembly ground, the annual event was aimed at giving students recognition for their leadership qualities while encouraging them to be good role models for their younger peers.
