  • PDF

17pic27Tutong - Strong winds that occurred last Saturday at around 4pm in Kg Kiudang, Tutong uprooted several trees that blocked several sections of the roads in Kiudang and Mungkom.

Several power cables were hit by the uprooted trees at Simpang 129 and a section of the Kiudang road near Simpang 205.

Meanwhile near the main road, a wooden garage and several tents erected for a wedding ceremony were also knocked down by the wind. The wind also blew off the roof of a wooden house at Simpang 129.

A villager when interviewed said, 'The wind was quite strong and it's rare for us to experience such strong winds at the village.

"It lasted for only a few minutes but it caused quite a big damage. The roads around the village were scattered with debris and even the bushes were levelled down by the wind. The strong wind seemed like a mini hurricane to us."

He added that miraculously the wind only affected their village and not nearby villages.
