Bandar Seri Begawan - Teachers and students of Year 10 from St John's School, Kuala Belait yesterday made an educational visit to Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam in Bengkurong. The visit was led by Mr Ramachandran, Senior Master of St John's School.
On arrival the students were welcomed by Awg Hj Abdul Hamid bin Maaruf, the centre's Head of Administration. The students were then briefed on the activities, learning facilities, training and projects that are being carried out by the centre.
In interview with Teo Wee Wee, Head of the Malay Department of St John's School, she said that among the objectives of the visit was to create awareness among students of the different learning environments conducted at the centre.
"We also tried to inculcate the feeling of compassion among students and teachers towards the special children at the centre," she said.
During the visit, Mr Ramachandran also presented a cheque totalling B$1,816.10, a five per cent contribution that was collected from the school's walkathon this year.
On behalf of Pusat Ehsan, the cheque was received by Pg Datin Hjh Noraini, the Executive Trustee of Pusat Ehsan.
