Bandar Seri Begawan - In conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam's 67th birthday, Danau Primary School (SRD), Tutong held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for teachers, students and school members.
A Tadarus ceremony will also take place along with the Khatam Al-Quran in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan 1434H/2013M until July 2013.
The programme is one of the initiatives of the Ministry of Education to enliven the festivity of His Majesty's birthday celebration every year.
Amongst others, the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was also held to refine and deepen the knowledge of the students as well as the school members in reading of the Quran.
The guest of honour at the event was Awg Hj Abdullah bin Hj Tahir, a village resident of Kampung Danau and was once the principal of SRD.
Also present were the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the school and guardians.
The ceremony began with a recitation of surah Al-Fatihah headed by the guest of honour followed by a recitation of Surah Al-Baqarah.
The event concluded with a Doa Selamat recited by Awg Muhd Syahhiiruddin bin Hj Haslan, a student in Year Four.
