Bandar Seri Begawan - Voluntary programmes and entrepreneurship were among the matters discussed during a courtesy call by Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports of Singapore, who is also the Senior Minister of State for Defence, Chan Chun Sing on the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Hazair bin Hj Abdullah.

Both ministers exchanged views of mutual concern in enhancing ties especially in community, youth and sports.

Chan Chun Sing also underscored the Singapore Government's willingness in providing support to the Sultanate; for the upcoming Asean Chair next year, in realising the aspiration to achieve Asean Community 2015.

Chan Chun Sing is in the country as part of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's delegation.

Also present during the courtesy call were the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Datin Paduka Hjh Adina binti Othman; Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Hamid bin Hj Mohd Jaafar; Singapore High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, Jaya Ratnam and senior officers from both ministries.
