Bandar Seri Begawan - Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Haji Hasrin bin Dato Paduka Haji Sabtu, Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), was yesterday awarded the Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang (Distinguished Service Order) by the President of the Republic of Singapore, Dr Tony Tan.
The Commissioner of Police was feted for his outstanding contribution in fostering excellent ties and cooperation between the Royal Brunei Police Force and the Singapore Police Force, and thereby enhancing the safety and security of both countries.
Singapore, which has close historical, social and diplomatic ties with Brunei, has benefited from Pehin Dato Paduka Haji Hasrin's active and significant contributions in the promotion of close bilateral ties between the Royal Brunei Police Force and the Singapore Police Force.
The excellent collaboration of the police forces in the areas ofinvestigations, training and the sharing of information and intelligence has yielded tremendous operational successes for both countries in combating terrorism and transnational crime, the citation read.
Pehin Dato Paduka Haji Hasrin's constant advocacy for extensive bilateral co-operation has also led to the deepening of ties and the development of exceptional rapport between officers of both countries to Under Pehin Dato Paduka Haji Hasrin's leadership, the long friendship between the Royal Brunei Police Force and the Singapore Police Force has been substantially enhanced.
In particular, the Singapore Police Force has benefited greatly from invaluable operational assistance provided by the Royal Brunei Police Force through various operational exercises and training programmes, it added.
