Bandar Seri Begawan - To seek help and guidance from Allah the Almighty for the safety and protection of residents in Gaza and Muslims around the world, Muslims are to carry out special prayers at all mosques and prayer halls across Brunei Darussalam including mass Sunnat Hajat prayers before Friday prayer and after Fardhu Maghrib prayer, as well as reciting Doa Qunut Nazilah at every Friday mass prayer.
Imams in their Friday sermon yesterday said such a move was to show the compassion of Brunei people towards their Muslim brothers and sisters around the world, especially those residing in Gaza.
"Let us seek assistance and guidance from Allah the Almighty by praying so that the sufferings of the people of Gaza will be alleviated because praying to Allah the Almighty is the best form of assistance," they said.
"The pain and suffering felt by the people of Gaza are felt among the whole Islamic population around the world. We pray that Allah the Almighty will bless and give strength and perseverance to the people to overcome this test.
"This is what is happening to our Muslim brothers and sisters living in Gaza who are currently being oppressed by violent attacks in the form of inhumane bombardment resulting in the loss of lives, mostly civilians such as women and children.
"Survivors not only have lost their loved ones, homes and jobs ... They also face suffering resulting from shortages of necessities such as food and medicine."
At the end of the sermon, Imams called upon Muslims to strengthen their 'Iman' and piety to Allah the Almighty by learning from all tests faced by Muslims and to pray for assistance at all times and situations, so that residents of Gaza are safe from the destruction of war.
