Bandar Seri Begawn - Pengiran Isteri Hajah Mariam Secondary School (SMPIHM), Serasa, recently held an award ceremony for its excellent students at the school's multipurpose hall.
Seventy students received the awards, including 10 students who achieved nine O's in BGCE 'O' Level Examination 2012.
The guest of honour at the ceremony was Awang Nazri bin Haji Anuar, Assistant Superintendent of Muara Fire and Rescue Station, Ministry of Home Affairs, who presented the prizes and certificates to the outstanding students.
The event started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah that was led by Haji Mohd Shahril bin Haji Abdul Rani, Head of Religious Department, SMPIHM, followed by a welcoming speech from the Council Patron, Joanna Lim Jok Hon, who is also the principal of the school.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Best Student in Brunei Cambridge GCE 'O' Level Examination Award, which was awarded to Mohammad Nur Al-Hafiz bin Haji Hamid, while Nuur Aziyah binti Hadi Suib received the Best in School Improvement Assessment (SPA) Award for the year 2012.
