Bandar Seri Begawan - Four lucky students and two teachers flew off to the UK last night for an educational visit after the students won the first ever Worldplay competition for Sixth Form students organised by CfBt, which was held at PTE Katok (PTEK) on September 26.

Sayyidina All Secondary School (SMSA) students, Bazielah Nabelah binti Hj Mohd Faderin Lee, Khairunnisa binti Hj Yakob, Syazwan Sufri and Voo Yu Tong embarked on their journey accompanied by their two teachers, Erna Sumarne binti Hj Sumardi and Ummi Kalsum binti Hj Omar who were the students' coaches for the wordplay competition.

They will return to the Abode of Peace on December 17.

These lucky winners will be spending a week in London, visiting historical places and landmarks as well as expanding their repertoire at different attractions, which London is famous for.

The students will also be visiting the House of Lords, a place where only a fortunate few have the privilege to enter as well as the world renown, Cambridge University.

Accompanying them is Mr Malcolm Osbourne, the quizmaster of the wordplay competition who will be acting as a guide throughout their visit in London and Cambridge.

Bazielah, captain of the team said she was lucky to be chosen as one of the members of the team as there were rigorous rounds to be completed before being chosen as one of the representatives of the school.

"About 70 students were interested in joining but in the end, only four could compete. We had a few sessions of training but in the end, it was well worth it," she recalled.

Voo Tu Tong admitted that he will be the first one in his family to ever visit the UK and feels humbled and grateful to have won the competition.
